About Healthy Hive
We’re on a mission to support people ready to embrace healing and recovery.
Providing a hand up
We’re making mental health and addiction treatment accessible to those with the willingness and courage to change, regardless of ability to pay.
Award scholarships for treatment.
In partnership with some of the best clinicians, treatment providers, interventionists, and care managers in the country, we support families as they work toward healing together by making sure they have access to all the care they need.
Leverage healthy community.
A popular adage in the recovery community is that the opposite of addiction is community. As people in long-term recovery ourselves, we know it’s true: community is the greatest healer. That’s why we facilitate ongoing connection with family members, peers, and mutual support groups.
Improve patient outcomes.
Recognizing the importance of improving outcomes on a national scale, we have implemented a robust data collection system. We’ll use the data to make sure we’re continuously improving what we offer.
Meet our founders
Dirk Eldredge
Dirk has over two decades of experience serving families and individuals from all walks of life. His experience has taught him that people share far more similarities than differences when it comes to addiction and mental health challenges. And he knows that the best way through it is together.
Christian Anderson
Before he finally got sober, Christian sought treatment eight different times. His family never gave up on him — even when it seemed like he had given up on himself. He has since dedicated himself to giving families the same unwavering support that transformed his own life.
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know and then some.
Do I have to pay for any of my treatment?
We always ask that people do what they can to support their recovery financially, but we understand that’s not an option for everyone. Healthy Hive works on a sliding scale and will fill the gap and allow you to access quality inpatient care, intervention, care management, sober living, and more.
What exactly is care management?
Care management is a suite of services we provide to make sure loved ones and their families have all the support they need throughout the entire continuum of care and beyond. What that looks like is different for each family and loved one, and depends on individual circumstances and needs. Healing is a process, not an event.
How do you decide where to refer someone for therapy or treatment?
We have decades of experience in managing mental health and addiction services and trusted relationships with individual clinicians, residential treatment centers, outpatient treatment facilities, and mental health experts that share our values and use evidence-based practices. Our network can offer referrals and coordinate placement with us when it's time to move forward with getting a loved one help.
What if I am homeless or housing-insecure?
We never want help to be inaccessible to you because of financial insecurity or circumstances like housing insecurity. We can work with you regardless of your means or lack thereof. All we ask is that you be open with us about your situation. It helps us understand where scholarship funds can fill the cracks. If you're ready to help yourself, we're ready to help you.
Can my family be involved?
Absolutely, and we encourage it. When it is appropriate to involve family in the recovery process, outcomes improve. At Healthy Hive, we know mental illness and addiction are family diseases - which means that whatever's going on at home isn't just impacting the person who needs treatment. We are committed to providing unconditional support from the first phone call to well after treatment is over.
How can I help someone who is struggling?
We believe the most helpful thing you can do is practice active listening. That means showing up without judgement and bringing a genuine desire to understand where they are in that moment and what they need. Being that listener makes you a source of reliable support when family dynamics change or feel unfamiliar.
